Skin Adjustment & Detox Phase

When starting a new skincare routine—especially one with all-natural, hand-crafted ingredients like ours—it’s completely normal for your skin to go through an adjustment period. This is often called the detox or purging phase.

During this time, your skin is working to push out impurities that have been lingering beneath the surface. You may notice more breakouts than usual, which can appear as pimples or bumps. This happens because ingredients in your new routine are accelerating cell turnover, bringing clogged pores (also known as microcomedones) to the surface. While it may feel like a sudden breakout, this is typically a sign that your skin is beginning to renew itself.

***This phase is temporary and usually lasts 3–4 weeks with consistent use.***

How to Know If It’s Purging or a Reaction?

Every skin type is different, and while purging is common, not all breakouts are created equal. If you notice:

  • Irritation
  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Burning
  • Or bumps that feel painful or swollen

…it may be a sign of sensitivity or an allergic reaction, not detox.

In this case, we recommend stopping use immediately and consulting a dermatologist or skincare professional. If you feel your skin isn’t responding well overall, you can return to your previous routine or gradually reintroduce new products one at a time.

Reminder: Trust Your Skin

Listening to your skin is key. While the detox period can be frustrating, it’s often a necessary step toward clearer, healthier skin—especially when switching to more natural formulations.

***If you have questions about how your skin is reacting, we’re always here to help.***
